Susan Robinson

Biography

Susan Robinson is a professional visual artist & mother of four, including three adopted children & a man with Downs Syndrome who has lived under her care for the last 23 years.


Providing leadership as a carer & art teacher with the Disability Services Commission for over 30+ years, she has accumulated extensive experience caring for people with disabilities & mental health conditions including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Battens Disease, & William Syndrome.


Susan Robinson was born with a learning disability, and embraces the challenges in both her personal & professional life, holding a BVA in Fine Arts at Edith Cowan University among other qualifications. Her work has been exhibited prestigiously throughout Australia, notably including ongoing representation in Saracen Estates winery labels. Her professional artistic career has been driven by the belief that painting can be used as a conscious tool for social change.


She currently works as an Educational Assistant, running an art class for children with disabilities from her own art gallery.
