To all our lovely readers, we hope that you're healthy and comfortable wherever you are today.

With all signs indicating we are no closer to securing an industry package, we need your help to achieve a critical mass of high-profile and public engagement on Tuesday, before Parliament sits on Wednesday to refine and adopt the wage subsidy to make sure that everyone is covered. Not only does this affect all artists, art workers and art organisations, but it also affects all the people that maintain the places that we work in, and those of us who also work in the service industry.

Are you missing out on government support? Your voice is needed to secure mass political and media attention. Our direct advocacy continues of course, but if we can achieve some good public engagement, that will be such a big help – let's see what we can do.

Take the following steps:

Take a picture of yourself holding up a sign. We have produced signs you can print out here. But if you don’t have a printer just put a handwritten message on a piece of paper featuring the hashtag #CreateAustraliasFuture. Caption it with how you're missing out on government support or why we need an industry package.
Post to your Facebook/Instagram/Twitter account making sure to use the hashtag #CreateAustraliasFuture and #auspol to grab journalists’ attention. Tag in Josh Frydenberg, Scott Morrison and your local MP. Tag NAVA so we can see your post and share it (with permission!)
Encourage others to get involved, so we can achieve that critical mass.

There's still a long way to go to ensure that the industry will survive the COVID19 crisis. Measures announced to date don't achieve that. Here's what needs to be done.
